Top 4 Tried And Tested Home Remedies For Hair Fall

Natural hair care routine for great looking tresses

If there is one thing individuals, irrespective of their gender, have been worried about it is probably hair loss.

The issue has been a recurrent topic in households and internet forums. In fact, the beauty industry has greatly profited from providing hair loss serums and shampoos. However, these products are often expensive and hard to find.

Their best alternative is home remedies which have proven to work for a number of people, even our members of Question Updates.

In a recent post in the group, a member posted about their excessive hair fall and asked for suggestions only to find a bunch of tried and tested home remedies recommended by other members.

We have put together four most recommended suggestions to help you with your hair loss:

Onion Juice + Coconut Oil

A decade old home treatment is the good old onion juice as the vegetable is rich in sulfur and acts as a natural protein for hair, restoring hair growth and shine. On the other hand, coconut oil is used to stimulate hair growth as the fruit is a good source of nourishment for the scalp.

All you have to do is get a medium sized onion, cut it into cubes and blend it in a blender. Extract the juice from it and add coconut oil as required. Apply the mixture on the scalp for 15minutes before wash.

Mustard Oil + Lemon Juice

Often the reason behind hair fall is dandruff and according to a member on the group, treating dandruff can help reduce hair fall.

For this, squeeze one lemon into ¼ cup of mustard oil and apply it on your roots for about 2 to 3 hours before wash. Repeat this twice every week.

Mustard oil contains protein and omega-3 fatty acids, both of which nourish our hair and help with hair growth, while lemon is known to fight dandruff.

Aloe Vera + Castor Oil + Onion Juice

Containing proteolytic enzymes that repair dead skin cells on the scalp, Aloe Vera gel is rich in vitamin D and acts as the perfect conditioner for hair. Mix the gel with castor oil, another important hair growth component, and onion juice and apply it on the roots for 15 to 20 mins before wash.

Fenugreek For Hair Loss

Fenugreek (Methi) is good for hair loss. It is high in protein and contains nicotinic acid that helps bring back the luster and shine in hair as well as restoring hair growth. You can either choose to eat it – just a pinch of it every day – or crush it into an oil you use for hair loss and apply it on the roots.

These home remedies promise results but are no magic formula to yield results within just a few days of applying. Patience and consistency in using them will be the key in your journey to reducing hair loss.
